After 2 days of raging storm and rain we have a respite with crisp, clean air and aquamarine seas. Time to get the washing out and a long stroll to see what the sea has washed up. With luck we'll find a paper nautilus shell or two!

After three exqusite days of no wind and balmy sunshine, winter has muscled in and raged onstage with a north westerly gale that is blowing the tops off the waves and making one or two unhappy campers leave early. The holiday makers changed from beach activities to kite flying when the wind picked up.
The local NSRI had quite an exciting team excercise in the Struisbaai bay with a helicopter pickup and team work from the two rescue craft that are based here.
The beautiful 'Blood Lily' - haemanthus sanguineus - is in flower all along the coastline at present and forms scarlet dots among the rocks and shrubs.
